Accessibility

At Freeman Arts Pavilion, we believe the arts should be accessible to everyone.

We warmly support and accommodate guests with disabilities at all our events, ensuring a memorable experience for all. If you have additional questions beyond what we have included here, or in our FAQs, please reach out to us at info@freemanfoundation.org.

Seating

All performances have designated accessible tickets, which can be found on the interactive seat map when purchasing tickets online or by calling our Box Office at 302-436-3015. Freeman Arts Pavilion offers accessible seating in every section of our venue. Accessible seating areas are located along aisles and in locations closest to exit pathways. We offer one companion seat adjacent to each accessible seat. Companion seats, if needed, should be reserved while booking accessible tickets. If you would like an accessible seat and do not need the venue's chair, please email us at info@freemanfoundation.org. If a companion's seat should be removed when purchasing accessible seats, please email us at info@freemanfoundation.org.

Parking & Drop-off

Accessible parking at Freeman Arts Pavilion, while limited, is available in the lot closest to the Main Entrance on a first-come, first-served basis. If those spots are filled, guests with mobility disabilities can be dropped off and picked up at our ride-share location. Anyone dropped off should proceed straight to the accessibility lane at the Main Entrance (not the regular queue). Our Off-Site Parking accommodates guests with mobility limitations; however, the shuttle bus is not wheelchair accessible. Guests using a wheelchair or with other mobility challenges are encouraged to arrive early to take advantage of on-site accessible parking or be dropped off at the ride-share drop-off location.

Entrance

There is a designated accessible queuing line at the venue's Main Entrance and a designated Accessible Lane through entry for those with accessible needs. Guests with metal implants, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator or other internal medical devices, should use the Accessible Lane through entry.

Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are on the Lower Lawn — this includes stalls in the restroom building and private all-gender/family restrooms. There are accessible porta-johns on the Boardwalk and below the Boardwalk, just beyond the Box Seats. These restrooms are marked accordingly.

Pathways & Picnic Areas

Paved pathways make the venue accessible. Benches are placed along longer routes to provide respite. Freeman Arts Pavilion has wheelchair accessible tables on the lower lawn and in the Grove. In locations with more significant inclines, staff or volunteers are happy to assist those in wheelchairs or who would like support.

Sign Language Interpretation

Sign language interpretation can be arranged by emailing info@freemanfoundation.org. A minimum of four (4) weeks advance notice is required.

Assistive Listening Devices

FM amplification headsets (loop andsurround earphone options) are available. These devices can be used anywhere throughout the venue and are available for pickup at the Merchandise Window at the Box Office, located near the Main Entrance. Please call or email us at info@freemanarts.org to reserve one ahead of your performance.

Sensory and Neurodivergent

The Freeman Arts Pavilion is proud to now be a KultureCity sensory-inclusive certified venue. KultureCity is a nationally recognized nonprofit that provides sensory inclusion training and tools to venues and large-scale events.

Sensory kits are available at no charge at the Merchandise Window right inside the venue. Kits include noise-reduction headphones, strobe-light-canceling glasses, weighted lap pads, fidget toys and non-verbal cue cards.

Service Animals

Except for service animals, pets are not permitted.

Medication & Food Allergies

Guests requesting accommodations for medications, medical devices, or allergy sensitivities should contact us at info@freemanfoundation.org and ask for the Security Manager or Supervisor at the Main Entrance.

Other

Guests can indicate any accessibility needs under the “Other Preferences” tab within the My Account page of our website. While this option is not an official way to request accommodations, it helps our team identify and better anticipate guest needs ahead of a visit. We encourage guests with specific questions or requests to contact us directly so we can provide the best possible experience.
