Community Partners

What is our Community Partners program?

Our Community Partners program is part of the Arts Access Initiative. The program serves our mission and community by building meaningful relationships and connections with local organizations throughout Delmarva that serve our communities. We work together to create arts experiences that are welcoming, inclusive, and free of barriers, both at the Freeman Arts Pavilion and throughout the community.

Our partners typically include child-care and after-school clubs, at-risk youth programs, transitional living programs, organizations that provide hospital and respite housing, community action/empowerment networks, veterans organizations and diverse faith-based organizations and programs.

Program Vision

To collaborate with community-based organizations to co-create and expand access to meaningful arts experiences, empowering partners to bring creativity, joy, and belonging to the communities they serve.

Throughout the year, we collaborate with our partners to expand arts access by presenting programs where children, families, and the communities they belong to gather, and provide opportunities for them to experience live arts together. During the summer season, we host partner organizations and the people they serve for performances at our venue.

We work together through two partnership types:

Core Partnerships: Designed for deeper collaboration, these relationships focus on co-creating arts experiences tailored to each organization’s community. Together, we design and deliver programs — such as workshops, performances, or residencies — that help organizations build their own capacity to incorporate the arts on a long-term basis.

Access Partnerships: These partnerships focus on broadening reach and removing barriers to participation. Access partners connect their communities to free or reduced-barrier opportunities to experience live arts performances at the Freeman Arts Pavilion and ready-made art kits.

Tickets to Freeman Arts Pavilion events Freeman Arts Pavilion is proud to offer a ticket access program that provides free admission to select events, helping connect our community with live arts experiences that inspire, entertain and bring people together.

Art Kits at local laundromats SPLASH! Laundromats in Georgetown and Milford have children’s libraries that turn laundry time into learning. In support of this initiative, we supply art kits, which include all materials and instructions, encouraging creativity and hands-on learning.

Morgan's Message In partnership with Stephen Decatur High School and Morgan’s Message, we supported a student-led public art project promoting creativity and mental wellness through a student-inspired mural by We Are Limitless Studios.

Hip Hop Fundamentals Camp Hip Hop Fundamentals is an award-winning team of diverse professional Breakdancers dedicated to Hip Hop education. They have partnered with us to create a weeklong summer camp opportunity for a local Boys & Girls Club.

Performances at local events Locals Under the Lights Latino brings Freeman Arts Pavilion’s signature series to Festival Hispano de Georgetown, celebrating Latino musicians from across Delmarva and the power of multicultural community.

Community art project at local event We joined a Laurel Public Library block party, sharing our season and hosting a Wishing Wall art installation. Over 100 community members wrote wishes for Laurel — many focused on peace and safety — and the installation continues to grow at the library.
